About Me
Sarah Chen
Ornithology Educator & Wildlife Taxonomy Writer
I'm a lifelong bird enthusiast who became fascinated by taxonomy after years of backyard birding and answering increasingly specific questions from friends and family. While I don't have formal zoological training, I've spent over a decade studying animal classification systems, reading peer-reviewed ornithological research, and maintaining detailed field notes on local species. I'm driven by the realization that people often confuse animals across taxonomic boundaries—bats as birds, dinosaurs as ancestors, penguins as mammals—and I wanted to create a clear, accessible resource that bridges that knowledge gap. I live with two rescue budgies and spend weekends exploring local nature reserves with my camera and notebook.
